IntesisBox® Modbus RTU/TCP server

This gateway offers a Modbus RTU/TCP server as main interface and a second interface talking another protocol. It allows to read/control an external system from Modbus (PLC, SCADA...). Acts as a Modbus slave device, allowing to be polled from Modbus devices RTU or TCP.

Hardware

The hardware platform for this gateway is IntesisBox®

External systems available for integration into Modbus enabled control systems

  • BACnet/IP (client)
  • KNX EIB
  • LonWorks
  • Modbus RTU master
  • Modbus TCP/RTU slave (4 ports)

    Metering
  • M-Bus (metering bus)

    Air Conditioning
  • DAIKIN SKY & VRV lines (** Small & Low Cost)
  • DAIKIN - VRV (with BACnet interface)

  • Honeywell XLS-80
  • Notifier ID3000 Series
  • Siemens Cerberus (MK7022)
  • Configuration

The configuration and supervison of the gateway is done through LinkBoxMB software, a software tool for Microsoft Windows operating systems supplied (free of charge) with the gateway and with the following main features:

  • Visual engineering tool, easy of use.
  • Multi-window tool allowing to supervise simultaneously the communication activity with both protocols (systems).
  • Window for viewing the real time values for all the signals allowing to modify any value (very useful for test purposes).
  • Console window showing debug and working status messages.
  • Configuration windows to configure all the gateway’s parameters and signals.
  • Signals configuration in plain text files (tab separated) for easy and quick configuration using Microsoft Excel (very useful in projects with a lot of points).
  • Allows to configure the gateway’s parameters and signals (points) while in off-line, this is, not connected to the gateway. You can configure/modify the gateway parameters comfortably in the office and later download the configuration to the gateway in the field.
  • Connection to the gateway for download the configuration and supervision by using a serial COM port of the PC (serial cable supplied with the gateway).
  • Allows to configure all the external protocols available for IntesisBox® - Modbus server series.
  • Upgrades for this software tool available free of charge whenever a new protocol is added to the IntesisBox® - Modbus server series.
  • Multi-project tool allowing to have in the engineer’s PC the configuration for all the sites with IntesisBox® - Modbus server series gateways installed.
  • Multi-language tool, all the language-dependent strings are in a plain text file (tab separated) for easy modification or addition of new languages.
  • A list of system commands is available to send to the gateway, for debugging and adjust purposes (Reset, Date/time consultation/adjust, Firmware version request...).
  • Modbus RTU interface

  • RS232 (DB9 male DTE) or RS485 (2 poles plug-in terminal block) connection.
  • Baud rate, data bits and parity configurable.
  • LED indicators for port activity (Tx, Rx).
  • Modbus device type: Slave. The number of slaves simulated will depend on the second protocol implemented (see datasheet in every case).
  • Modbus TCP interface

  • Ethernet 10BT RJ45 connection.
  • IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and TCP port configurable.
  • LED indicators for port activity (LNK, ACT).
  • Modbus device type: Slave. The number of slaves simulated will depend on the second protocol implemented (see datasheet in every case).

  • Contact us at info@intesis.com for more information about what protocols can be implemented in the second interface of IntesisBox® Modbus RTU/TCP server.
